Should your business stay or relocate?

You have outgrown the space, part of it is empty or an important lease date is approaching. Where do you start when weighing up a move?

What is getting in the way?

The location might still work while the layout has become awkward. Or access may be the problem. Describe what gets in the way of everyday work before looking at other buildings.

  • Space you are short of or no longer use
  • Access and everyday operations
  • Plans that are difficult to accommodate at the current location

What have you agreed?

Find your lease, amendments and key correspondence. Alongside them, list what you would like to change. Whether and when a change is possible depends on those arrangements and needs a review of the documents.

How would a move affect the business?

Think about the transition too. Where will people work during the move? Does the new space need alterations? How would the location affect staff and suppliers?

Set these questions alongside the options at your current premises.

What would you like to resolve first?

Whether it is the suitability of your current premises, the lease or another location, start with the issue on your mind. Let me know about any important dates too.
